Mini Mal,

Not sure yet, I need to check avalibilty and times.

I missed an automobile adventure? J,M&J, it must have been when I was reading the map

If I do get over, (I should do), I'll brig some more of that "water of Life", the second one, slightly nicer taste and a wee bit stronger.

LLM, what time do we need to be at barn for?

So I can work out what day to travel, 15th/16th.

I can then find times of ferries from Dublin and can work out when I'd need to get there from Belfast. Stay over night if I need to.

Whatever time you want after 4pm - if we're not there by then you can wait in the pub

Glad it's not Friday 13th

I should see you there, all being well.

Okey Dokey, in 3 wks if I book a return trip to Holyhead, I can get it cheap as the holiday season ends.

I've no work that weekend and will keep it 'clear'. I've just got to work out how to get to Capel Curig from Holyhead.

I may have to get a verrry early ferry from Dublin, I might be in HH for 4.30am.

Put me down as a cert. Maria. I'll be there.

PS  I'll be a "wuss" and be an "innie".

What's the way with food? Do all cook for them selves or does someone make a meal for everybody?

I'm a reasonably average cook, but can make Chilli, Soup, Stew, etc. if I know I need to bring ingredients.

I've made a meal for meet before, OMWS. Granted not as many in one sitting, given enough pots, not a problem. Or split into two sittings.

  Let me know.

Huskyman,

Check out Traveline Wales, for your onward journey

http://www.traveline-cymru.info/

It only goes 3 months ahead, so stops at 12th Nov at the moment, but it suggests a train from Holyhead to Bangor (probably timed to meet the ferry) and then a bus on to Capel Curig should be feasible. From Capel it'd be about a mile to walk to the hut, depending exactly where the bus drops you.

Anyway, later this week the site should cover your dates to check the details.

He'll have lost it, Kate, you know what he's like!

MK, Mat C,

I've looked at link, The problem is that the timetables don't mention Capel Curig.

Therefore I don't know which bus to get. (Some only run twice a day, school term buses).

Husky, if you can get to somewhere like Betws-Y-Coed or  Colwyn Bay for late afternoon, I am sure someone could pick you up.  If I come, would be happy to from Betws

Food wise, last time we cooked (Well, Maria did and pub 2nd night). Try an find another willing volunteer to cook for all this time

Between us we'll sort out a meal for the Friday evening (but this will be arranged much, much nearer the time).  Don't worry Husky we'll sort it, and i propose that Saturday night we eat at the pub again.  Obviously anyone can make their own arrangements if they'd prefer.  We could arrange a communal bacon butty breakfast or peeps can sort their own..... Everyone brings their own stuff for *dinner / lunch (*insert as applicable, dependent on North/South divide)

Routes - again to be thought of nearer the time..... so please don't ask me yet.... (it's only August and i have my three week summer holiday to plan first!)

Yes they do! On the front page, type Holyhead in the Travelling From box and Capel Curig in the Travellling to box. This is Wales, Husky, it's not the third world!

I'll try again MK,

When I tried on Thurs. and Friday, all it said was "result not found".

You should try looking at Ulsterbus website, try to find how much it costs to go from A to B! All you get is a phone number!!

Not that smart IMHO, How are peeps, especially tourists, to know how much travelling is going to cost them.

I'd say we are more 3rd world than Wales!!!

Holiday - AGAIN

12/08/2012 at 21:45

OK, looked at web site again.

Train from HH to Landidno, (excuse spelling if wrong).

 Bus from there to CC.

In Sept. I'll check again, with ferry times ETC.

I can some times get real discounts if I book whole travel package as one, through Bus Eireann..

Given as I've travelled with them so often, I'm now a 'Gold Card'  customer and can get up to 50% discount when I book a 'travel package' with/through them.

PS.What maps will I need for area/s we will be?

12/08/2012 at 21:53

OS Explorer Map OL17 should do it.... or whatever BMC / Harvey map if you'd prefer those...
