Should I be feeling very old or very young right now as I don't have a clue what any of you are talking about?

Long overdue but a few more pics, I've also (finally) added them to the Flickr group!

Hi, in your rambles up there did you hear anything about the path to and from Scarth Gap being closed? There's a web-site posting all the path closures in the Lake District after the flooding, and the Scarth Gap path is marked as being closed. Just wondered if anyone knew any more?

Think Fenwick and Simong went back that way on the Sunday...

Part of the path had collapsed, been fenced off, and there was a muddy detour around it. Down at the bottom, just as you leave the wooded section on the way up from Buttermere.

This was a couple of weeks before the BS meet though....

I'm pretty sure it was open when we left the BSH on the Sunday. We walked up and over the Scarth Gap and down the other side. We passed a few folks coming up from Gatesgarth; it was open on the 28th.

HTH

Fenwick, that's great, Thanks. I'm not sure if that web-site will update things properly as they improve, so it was very useful to get your response.

This was still the case when we went passed it.

Aaaahh! Now I understand. Thanks for the additional detail. I can let my friend know as he's going up there soon, and the ascent up Scarth Gap is one of his favorite routes.
