I've booked Black Sail YHA, Ennerdale from Friday 26th - Sunday 28th Feb.

It has 16 beds (2 x 4 bunks and 1 x 8). Details here  It'll cost you £25.00 each for the two nights.

Apparently, the YHA don't allow you to camp in front of it any more, so you wild campers will have to move a bit further away where I can't see you

Probably a bit soon to sign up for definite? But if it is oversubscribed, I'll pick off the list below, in order.

But intending to go so far and stay in the hostel are:

Milly & a couple of her pals (Kathy & Suzanne)

I'm being totally non-committal here... but...

I've always wanted to stay at Black Sail and never got round to it. I've walked past the door many times, walked over the fells above it many more times than that. I've even camped and bivvied on those fells, but somehow never actually stayed at the hostel. By the time I realise if I can make it or not, all the beds will be gone anyway, unless someone books and cries off at the last minute.

Anyway...

It's a while since I checked... but is that little hut still tucked away in the forest nearby? It was always handy for a bivvy when the weather was nasty. For all I know, the hut has gone and maybe even that bit of the forest has gone with it. But... if anyone has the info...

Err, Mick. Were you expecting that I wouldn't go, or did you believe Tim's story that I'm another hulking great trucker?

Could you just camp out of sight of girls? A separate mini meet a little way beyond the curtilage?

Definately interested Milly. I'll check my diary and with the banker. Pencil me in please.

Me, if someone can pick me up at Whitehaven station and drop me off there on Sunday. I'll look after the hostel while you're all out doing enermagetic thingies.

I'm interested but its a time of year that should be spent camping,so if i can make it I'm for a wild-camp with eddy .

Also  aren't fires allowed in blacksail valley so even more tempted to wild-camp ....

Paddy not sure if you knew but if you are ever passing again you can go in and make a cuppa for a small fee if the kitchen is open, and dry off and rest...
