Oh, my experience of groups is they tend to be slow off the mark, the bigger the slower. Not everyone believes in slick drills and speed is safety!

Sounds good - thanks for the ideas, sounds like the plan has come togethers

I have memories of Tavy Cleave (and Ger Tor)

As Im arriving in Okehampton about 10:30am on the Friday, I'm going to spend all day wandering about but avoiding Wilsworthy and Merrivale firing ranges as they are being used on the Friday day.

I'm probably going to have a bite to eat and a couple of beers before heading off to the wild camp are mentioned.  Whats everyone else doing re camping on the Friday Night ? And what time are people planning on getting to the pub ?

Sam

I am getting there about 7 -7.30 (work gets in the way)

I will camp with the majority, and I am sure that we will meet in the Fox and Hounds for a bite to eat and a cok,  pm everyone with my mobile number later on just in case,

Also will give the grid reference for the wild camp area and ideas of where people can park

Sam if you're at a loss for something to do the pub is open all day
22/05/2012 at 20:22

Chewie, if you're booking F & H spaces for Friday night, please can you count me & LMM in? We'll be down pretty late, perhaps just make it for last orders, so it'll be easier to pitch up there for the night (& they'll keep my car for free for the weekend too). A Saturday morning fry-up sounds good too

G (wumpy/oing/ronk) is having a hard time getting away from work as his shift doesn't finish til 10pm on Friday and is struggling to get holiday as it's Jubilee week, so he doubts he'll get there

I hope the walk on Sunday isn't tooooo ambitious, as we have a 5 or 6 hour drive back afterwards. Will need to leave by about 4pm

Yes, very latest by 4pm!!!

From that comment I guess you would get on with a lot of the OM'ers I have met

No probs Milly, have made the request for the VIP pitch at the F & H, and will make sure that if they are shut then there will be a little refreshment for you. (a drop of vino and some cheese and biscuits, but if I say the Dominos will be out, I guess LMM will make you put your foot down

Have booked the brekkie for you both as well. What about moonlight, is he able to make it??

Sunday is totally open to discsussion- I am merely a facilitator not and dictator. We should be off the Moor easily by 3. But having not wild camped with y'all before I'm not sure how early you are all ready to go. As you know I am an early bird - but not all are!

I also know Sam has a train to catch as well and needs to be off  reasonably early.

Real shame about G wumpy hope he can sort it also wish I could make Glencoe at the weekend  but too far with no hols spare

I'm just a bird Can be early if pushed a bit. But a certain domino diva doesn't really DO early...

Moonlight is doing a bit of health testing for the next couple of weekends, so won't know until very close to the time.

Thanks Wurz but I don't really want to be in the pub all day as I don't get out into the great outdoors not nearly as often as I would like, so am planning to get a nice walk in first.

I'm thinking of coming in from Belstone as I know that way and towards Hangingstone Hill then heading towards Lydord via Fur Tor as a possibility. Or just come up and over Yes Tor round Great Kneeset as so forth. I Haven't finalised my route yet and don't want to knacker myself too much .

I need to be back in Okehampton by about 2:30pm I think, so will probably depart the group accordingly at some point on Sunday.

If everyone else is staying in the Pub then I might do too. I will wait and see...

Can you book me a space as well? Could pick you up on way down if you don't fancy driving chewie?

Well, I was very tempted to add pictures of a before cup of tea and after cup of tea princess - but thought better of it !!!
There is early and Chewie early all can be discussed on Friday night.

Thats fine seems most people aren't getting there until late. Conference call is no problem can stop at the services on way down. Will sort it out.

Sounds good, I'm happy to drive

Anyone else want to join us from Gloucestershire or anywhere else on the way down - Glenn could do with someone else in the car, cos I'm not very good  company

PS. The campsite is £6.50 per tent for 2 people. I mentioned that we have 1 man tents and they still said 6.50. Bit of a trade off for leaving the cars there maybe
