I hope you all have a great meet.  I'm was unable to make it in the end.  I did, though, have a great two days on Wed and Thurs camping in the Mendips, no shortage of wind and rain, which turned out to be a fantastic kit test.

Rather a wet night for my first OM meet - and no rave, just dead quiet when I arrived at 11.45, so I slunk into my pit with just myself for company with the whisky (hic).

Nice to meet the three of you in the morning - thanks for the welcome.  It was good to get out.

Chewie - that's too much information!  No need to be embarassed - it's just something I do, and only some aspects of our work.  And gloves?  Or glove?  I have gained one, so if any of you three are missing one, let me know and I'll send it.

Rob, sorry if too much info

thought it was ironic losing it- even if frustrating for me

Good too meet you too, and enjoyed your company. Hope more of the OM'er s get to meet you. Sure they would enjoy meeting you.

Also just realised - dont post messages from phone when cant read them.

Car all sorted, and home safe and sound just drying out

Will post a few pics later

Glad you guys had fun! If it makes you feel better, I spent most of the weekend in a darkened room with no natural light, so fog and rain would have been good! See y'all next time I hope.

Chewie, cheers for the organising!

Really sorry that we didn't make it down to Dartmoor to see you all, but the traffic problems were impossible in the Nort West on Friday night. Glad you've had a good time. We've consoled ourselves with some gentle bimbling around the Peak District I won't put a link to the pics here, or you'll see how sunny it has been

Damn...Had I known Milly...
10/06/2012 at 21:35
Not sure if it was Milly, Maria or Alexander who alerted Chewie to my rather late request for last night's camp location but whoever it was, thank you!  Good to get out, and on part of the moor I'm less familiar with.  Shame it was dark on way out and mist on way back - but that's life.

Twas Me , i only have a phone that makes calls, no photos or music ect, so don't know how OM comes out on a phone but I know sometimes bits are missing, so I pasted a copy to fb in the hope it would get through , glad to be of service.

Thanks Rob for the lift back to the car, and thanks Chewie for the lift to into exteter. I had 2 hrs to kill in Exeter before my train so I bought some nice dry socks to put on I hate damp feet. I didn't get in until 9:30pm had a half hr wait to conect at Bristol. Tent hanging over clothes horse, sleeping bag over banister. Had a nice bath. Off to bed in a minute. Yes it was a good weekend and nice to meet you guys.

Nice photies. A classic wildcamping weekend with one nice day followed by a less pleasant one!

Looks like you had a great time if not a bit damp on day 2! Gutted I could not get away from work. Hopefully next time!

James
