Try to get Monday off too, & then I can give you a  lift

I'm very tempted by this.  I could get a train early on Friday morning and arrive at Fort William around 4.00pm.  Monday is Bank Holiday so similar times for the return

I could drive up on Friday to arrive a little earlier.  I'd also remove the hassle of getting to and from Fort William.  If I do go I'd want to go up Ben Nevis on the Saturday (not mandatory for anyone offering/taking a lift).  Anyone who lives inbetween Stourbridge and Carlisle looking to split travel costs might sway the decision.

Other than that I could drive up and cadge a lift with A N Other (which might also sway the decision).

I don't think the Monday is a Bank Holiday. It would be normally in England, but has been flitted to fit in with the Jubilee (if I'd said this yesterday, you wouldn't have believed me ).

SSP... Chewie and Glenn are reasonably close to you...

Steve/Elaina - are you planning any particular hills for the weekend??
If so, please note: I haven't done Bidean nam Bian or Stob Coire Sgreamhach

Hmmmm, I may also head up to Am Bodach and Sgurr a Mhaim (across the Devils ridge) Or may actually do all of the Ring of Steall

Im up for doing any as I have not yet been north of the lake district. Are these 'youve been maria'd walks?
11/04/2012 at 20:06
If you aim to do Stob Coire Sgreamhach with AT and TBW, I would strongly advise you to ensure that you cross the river and keep to the path up the hidden valley rather than head up the scree!
11/04/2012 at 20:17
Glenn, most of the hills in Scotland are of the 'you've been Maria'd variety'!!! Think you love the Ring of Steall - all weather dependent of course!
11/04/2012 at 20:31
Yes looked it up. I will do that with you as looks fun and then maybe that ridge i mentioned which i still don't know hw to spell

TBW hasn't done Sgreamhach but will depend on how her knee is.  Either of the others are good days too!

Come on Kate, you've got to admit it was an interesting route!

As Maria says any hills up here tend to be of the "Maria'd" variety and if I'm there we'll also take you on some Morley Paths!
