I've booked this new venue at Greenside near Glenridding, from 4pm Friday 20th January - 4pm Sunday 22nd January 2012

There's room for 30, but I'm hopeful for 20 and pricing it accordingly.

There's parking for 9 cars only , so walking in & car sharing will be essential.

It is well kitted out (see the facilities page of their website) - has bunks & mattresses but you'll need your own sleeping bag & pillow.

Cost: £15.50 per person for the weekend

Add your name below mine if you're interested. Payment will be required by 11th December which will confirm your place. If you drop out after you've paid, you will need to arrange a replacement - I won't issue a refund (but will help you to find a sub).

Where's the nearest station?

Probably Penrith but I'm not sure.

The point re car sharing- I would be coming up from from Gloucestershire.

Anyone, passing through or could be picked up and share ??

I doubt I'll make this meet but the 'hut' is a real cracker - used it perhaps a decade ago as a climbing base with a mate's club. IIRC we walked to Gable and did Tophet Wall....was fit in those day's

Comfortable and with a good stove too - stepping away from the gnarly climber motif I believe we partook of a confit of duck legs with a prune and armagnac sauce...

Mal, Penrith is the closest and then you could get a bus to Glenridding, but since there's a few of us coming up from the north west, Preston or Lancaster would probably be easiest for a lift to the door.

Then again, negotiate with Chewie for a lift from Gloucestershire?

Or you could always get a lift with your son

Most people will have to come via Penrith I think. Kirkstone Pass could be closed if it's anything like last year so one would have to come in to Glenridding from the north.
