Lakes, Conniston Old Men & Quarries Meet

So just for Stephen, I am organising a "Lakes" meet and rather selfishly I fancy the Conniston area.....lots of exciting tarns and mines and old men! <wink smiley>

Potential wild camp Friday evening (Goats water) with a wander around Brown Pike, Buck Pike, Dow Crag, Levers Hawse, Swirl How, Wetherlam, Great Carrs, Grey Friar (no particular order at moment) and perhaps a high level camp at some point on the wander round - weather dependent...we'll see.

So if you fancy, all welcome.....

Evening! I'm supposed to be staying at home that weekend, but we'll see how it goes and I'll come if I can. Sounds like a good plan, Maria- haven't done the Coniston round in years.

Yup, all that! Not sure how free I am but I should be able to pop up and say hello and have a stroll if nowt else.

Thre's supposed to be a really nice wildcamp spot up on the way to Goats Water too Maria. Near a tarn up the side of the hill a bit. Is it Blind Tarn?? Ooops! Not supposed to give out wildcamping spots.

Enjoy it it's nice around there.

Tempted, very tempted. Should have recovered from a full week in Knoydart by then. First completely solo trip and intend to hide up in the hills all week if I can. Might come down a little wild looking all unshaven and talking to myself. Also covered in midge bites as I intend to tarp it!!

(Don't tell Milly if I do come as I still feel guilty about expressing interest in Catbells cowshed meet then got too busy and totally forgot to confirm it or not. Seems she was left with a few places left too. Reckon she can hold a grudge!!)

I'm probably busy that weekend I'm afraid.

But would anyone be interested in a Snowdonia meet later in the summer? I wanna have a go at the Welsh 3000ers over 2/3 days, wildcamping en route.

As TBW has said we have freinds coming up that weekend but we will be having a North York Moors meet on the weekend of 20th August so will hopefully catch up with a few folk then if not before.
