One of the best sources of information is likely to be the Buxton Public Library. Most libraries keep a file of local organizations.

When I lived in Sheffield/Peak District, I was a member of the Castle Mountaineering Club. They are based in Sheffield, but have members living in Derbyshire and further afield. Their home page is at http://members.madasafish.com/~rpc/

I don't know if the contact info on that page is up to date. However, if you are interested, I can give you the email/phone number of someone who is a member.

I am the Walks Coordinator for a Walking Group based in Stoke on Trent who do a lot of walking in the Peak District.  For example today we did a 12 mile walk in the Upper Dove valley taking in Crome Hill.  For further details see our website www.hrcwalks.org.uk
