The north-east England members of the Backpackers Club have had their own website for twelve years now but it was a static site & dependent on the webmaster of the day to keep it updated - an onerous task & in the last year or so has not been updated as regularly as we'd like. To that end we've launced a new site today that uses an interactive forum format so local members can post their own trip accounts & pictures & plan upcoming meets etc online.

We do take part in national club meets but largely due to the southern membership bias of the club we arrange & attend our own meets, mainly in the north of England & Scotland.
We've made a large part of the site open to everyone - registration is required to post or reply in the main public areas. Anyone with interests in backpacking, walking, xcski or cycling is welcome to join the site - Club membership not required.
