He's not twiggy, Alexander! He really is 'no longer the 'office manager''!

17/08/2012 at 22:30

He's been on here longer than I have, and gave me my 'Metric' name

17/08/2012 at 22:40

Oh, I thought he was Twiggy , sorry about that, I had a look a that website and it gave me an idea , while you're there kate, who is Becky ?, I havent seen the name before.

17/08/2012 at 22:43

Becky's a newbie, so say hello to her! As far as I'm aware, she's female and her name actually is Becky. She's from Birmingham.

Thanks Kate, Hi Becky , are there any hills near Birmingham , it seems flat dwon here in this part anyway !

Good evening from the far north west.  Had our first real rain of the week so headed for Ullapool for this morning for coffee/soup but it cleared in the afternoon so had a drive round Achiltibuie and Altandhu on the way back.  Last full day tomorrow beofre returning to deepest, darkest Ayrshire on Sunday.

Morning all, bit damp here but should clear up later hopefully. Off for a 10 miler in the Peak District so hope it stays dry.

Alexander, no I'm not Twiggy as Kate said, I'm just me. My job title at work was 'Office Manager' hence my 'handle' but then I had an enforced change with a new title (and a 20% pay cut!) so now I'm 'No Longer the Office Manager'! I could have used my new job title but no-one would have known who I was and at least there's a link! Besides my new title is rude - I'm now the PIS Off! (Property Information & Support Officer)!

Morning, it's grey here and just started raining, so hardly the 'hottest day of the year' some of you are apparently experiencing. Got to go zip to the bank to see if it's open; they've cancelled their lobby service and it's virtually impossible now for working people to pay in cheques

Well, you learn something new every day, I had no idea NLtOM was called 'Andrew'

18/08/2012 at 17:34

Hi Kate, yes that's me!

18/08/2012 at 20:20
Evening. Nice here at the mo, after a very wet start. Wandered up Nab Scar, Lords Crag, down to Alcock Tarn and back to Rydal on the coffin road. Nice walk.

So NtOM is Andrew! Thanks for the history lesson too.

Evening, just passing thru before my dongle time comes to and end .

All understood NltOM

Hot and sunny here, have been driving a tractor at 5km most of the day, time drags , Supper .

Did a nice 10 miler today in the Peaks with my regular walking mate. Tried to rain once or twice and it was really humid at times. Overcast most of the day and the sun only came out when we had finished!

Painting the dining room tomorrow. You watch, it'll be a beautiful sunny day!!

PS If that bl**dy dog nearby doesn't stop barking I'm going to shoot the owner!!

18/08/2012 at 21:16
Probably cleared about 2something here in the lakes.
5km/h sounds very tedious AR.

Evening. The coffin road to/from Rydal is a lovely route - we walked it for the first time last month. I can't believe it had escaped me for 30-odd years but I've always either been going up towards Fairfield or crossing the road to Loughrigg.

I see you said the Helm Crag path was finished, Beth. They were working on it when we went up there in July. A couple with two dogs were just ahead of us going through the bit where two guys were working, and one of the dogs left a steaming great pile right on top of one of the fresh rocks it looked like they'd be moving into place... nice

I've watched rather a lot of cycling in the last month, but this sunny afternoon I got on my own bike and did 42 miles in 3 hours

So that'll be about half the speed of Wiggo then

Just waiting now for the ITV4 highlights of day 1 of the Vuelta. It'll be interesting to see if Froome can notch up a victory. (It'd be good if the BBC's sports coverage could even acknowledge its existence, instead of wall-to-wall premier league, yawn... so much for "legacy" )

Back from a friend's 50th birthday party Great evening, though slightly odd given that it was at the Students' Union, which made it feel a bit like a work do, lol!!

19/08/2012 at 00:15

Boing!

19/08/2012 at 08:03

Morning all. What did I tell you?  It's a bright sunny day and what am I doing - painting and washing! Well at least the washing will get dry but it will be a warm job painting. Have fun you'all!

19/08/2012 at 17:15
Afternoon. It's not nice now nltom, been peeing down since midday.

Matt, this is a new section of path they have done this past week, not the rework of existing path by the wall - which I think you might be thinking of.

Coffin road is well handy I've used it a couple of times this week. If weather okay tomorrow I might do a loop over stone Arthur to Nab scar and back on coffin rd.
