Sorry, forgot for a moment, you're a puddock.

Since coming up with Froggy went a courtin' can't get the friggin' song out of my head. Trying to avoid this frog train of thought. All your fault Oot:-)

Now I feel bad:)

Froggy and puddock both end up eaten by a bird ...guess you have enough to contend with Oot.

To be honest, I'm having a pretty good evening. The weather was so nice earlier that I sat outside til 7:30 drinking a beer (or two :))

... and now I'm getting my stuff ready for the trip to Glencoe on Friday. I've got the week off work after the meet so i'll be down there for a while.

I'll be checkin' your website Lindsay for some good ideas on hills to climb. I fancy a few Corbetts! :) <reference to naked walking thread> :)))))

It's been a grand evening down here in Devon too.

It's great to follow these threads and see meets in the mountains getting organised. Hope you have agreat weekend.

It's hard to get away from all the youngsters training on Dartmoor for the ten Tors just now. Caterpillars everywhere, as the day goes on they become disjointed -
strung out strings of very weary folk. After this weekend it will all be over and a brief spell of peace until the Summer Season begins.

Don't mention naked walking please:-) don't think Lindsay or I should go there again.

I've read your thoughts on the Ten Tors elsewhere on here. I won't go into that:)

On the flip side, I was in 'Tor Heaven' a few weeks back on Beinn Mheadoin in the Cairngorms. Some prime examples indeed! The largest even has a weathering pool on the top of it:) Also had some fine views over to the Tors on Bynack More. Barely a soul in sight, although I did meet some nice people when camped by the Fords of Avon.

I couldn't do naked walking. Folk would just laugh :)

I'm not allowed to speak about flaff or naked rambling with Elaine so it will just have to be the Corbetts.

Several good and reasonable easy Corbetts down Glen Etive and a more remote one above Blackwater Reservior but include the Graham for a longer day.

Invercoe Camp Site is an ideal location especially at this time of year when it will be midge free.

There are two Corbetts on either side of Loch Leven so plenty for you to get your teeth into a'boot.

The advantage of this cold weather with frost at night should kill off some of the midge lava so hopefully these female midges will be late in biting this year.

Off to Fisherfield with a client or two to try all six Munros on the Saturday. It will take me a few days to recover after that.

It will be quiet on this OM thread if your not a'boot next week so I will just have to annoy flaff on my own.

Enjoy your break in Glen Coe a'boot.

Watch for the frogs although the mating season will be over for the year - tough luck!

Cheers for the tips Lindsay. I'll check them out properly on the map.

I think I'll stay on Invercoe c/s until Tuesday. Probably do one or two Munros while I've still got the 'luxury' of the campsite.

After that I'm going to do a bit of a 'walkabout'. I'll take enough food for 4 nights and just head off somewhere. I've got no real plans on where yet. It's hard to tell until you actually see the hills in real life. I'll be looking for remote as possible tho' :)

What worries me more Lindsay is that I'm going to lose *thousands* of relations due to this cold snap we've been having. And you think you're life's tough? :)

Flaff.... run for the hills!!! :))))

Blimey, I've been wittering on here all night. Must've been one too many bears <hic> I mean beers!

Night all <hic><ribbit!> :)

Jealous of all those mountains available to you Lindsay. May ask to pick your brains next time I'm heading North of the border.

Meantime I have my own Ten Tors planned for Sat. -Pil, Top, Bell, Chinkwell, Honeybag, Hound, Holwell, Haytor, Saddle and Rippon. And hopefully not a Ten Tors caterpillar in sight:-)

Elaine - no problems - just use this forum or e-mail me when you need the information. A'boot apparently uses the walks on my web site occasionally - I hope he doesn't get lost if I have missed something out.

Enjoy the Ten Tors although I am very ignorant of the hills south of the border - never been there - too many in Scotland need visiting over and over again. Well I have to admit being on my fourth round of Munros, second round of Corbetts and my first round of Grahams but I get paid to do some of them. Not sure if I will complete any of these rounds but record them just in case.
11/05/2005 at 09:54
Aye, I use your website a bit Lindsay. I don't really use it for routes per se, more for ideas on places to go. I also like to read your trip reports just to see what you've been up to. The Trossachs being a good example :)

I'm fairly ignorant of the hills down south too. I'm still on my first round of Munros, Corbetts and Grahams, so I've still got plenty to do up here :)

Enjoy your day with all that Tors Elaine! As you say, at least you won't be surrounded by caterpillars :)

Nimby? what on earth's a nimby? Must be one of those strange English words you've picked up since moving down there :)

Thanks for the kind offer of sharing information Lindsay - much appreciated.

Oot, nimby is an acronym for not in my back yard. But I am not really so selfish. Dartmoor is superb and I can usually escape from the crowds. I do enjoy being able to walk all day without seeing another single soul. Worth a visit but give me mountains any day.

Lindsay's not such a quiet sober living chap as he leads us to believe. We will all be able to read about it in New of the World apparently. He is probably arranging an injunction as we speak or negotiating with Cameron to keep his secrets. See latest on Women and safety thread.

How much for a date? Bl***y H***. I wish I knew someone that rich! Seems a bit excessive. Mind you if someone's daft enough to want to spend that on me, I'll not object.

As to where I purchase my foundation wear, that's my secret, it's only seen by me anyway ;o) But I've yet to meet a man who didn't have some kind of vested interest (if you'll pardon the expression) in women's underwear. When I think of some of the horror items, masquerading as knickers, I have been presented with as presents. Oh dear.

Yes, Lindsay, I am often found in the wine aisle of Tesco. I can't keep away from it.lol Just wish I could drink more of it. I'm intrigued about Oot now- just as well I don't go to M&S Lingerie very often. It's bad enough having to go to tesco in disguise!

Oot, as to my experience of true Aberdonians- I was unofficially attached to one for several years. He almost put me off men for life (and his Mother, put me off the idea of having a mother in law forever). Then I met "Action Man" who eventually moved to Aberdeen from FW, and that's when it all went to sh*t. He finished off the job the Aberdonian started. Hence, I am the Lone Ranger- no I don't take Silver to the supermarket, that would be a dead giveaway to you 2!!!!

I'm sure Elaine and I will keep Lindsay in order while you're away Oot. I'm just a wee bit jealous about missing Glencoe, but I do need to be at home this weekend. I'm about to get skinned alive by my Mum because I am not ready for the wedding yet. She does have a point, alas. Never mind, maybe next time.

Fisherfield sounds good Lindsay- you will need to lie down for a while after that one. Sounds like your client is the action type! Weather is looking hopeful though, so it should be good.

Elaine, I hope you get north again, and can get to a meet- the more the merrier!

Oot- me run to the hills?? That's a bit strenuous, could I walk???
11/05/2005 at 10:28
I'd just finished reading it before coming here.

Aye Lindsay, what other dark secrets have you got lurking in your cupboard? :)

Have to agree with you Elaine. Whilst I enjoy walking with others, there's nothing like being out there on your own. That's the fun of wild camping. When you wake up in the morning you *know* that you're the only person for miles around. Ye cannae beat it! :)
