Well I've used this website and the forum pretty much on and off since it started, posted some 1000+ posts (probably not a great average considering).   It's changed over the years, when there was barely a post or two a day, to now being so active, and such a great resource.  Jon and his team, have done really well.

I've had some great advice, and hopefully given some reasonable opinion in return, and met some great people.   In two weeks though I'm emigrating to New Zealand, Auckland so would like to wish everyone all the best.

On the off chance there are already some NZ members on here, perhaps they can refer me to some good NZ outdoors sites and forums.

Gosh - NZ is not too far in cyberspace terms; look forward to the 'expeditions'  thread being extended from there

Ed, you getting Lindsay Boyd and Lloyd Bower mixed up there?

Have a top time in NZ Lloyd!

Cheers, yep I can't take any credit for Lindsay's excellent expeditions thread.

Myself, I'm going to remain marooned on some 225 munros for a while now.

Anyway; have fun whomever you might be

Someone told me that New Zealand is like Scotland done properly, so you should have a good time. All the best.

t's OK Lloyd, I remember you from way back

NZ looks.......stunning, is the only word I can think of.

As for contacts, Michelle over at http://loveinatent.blogspot.com/ (potentially NSFW) seems an approachable kind of gal

All the best with the move, Chief.

Lloyd,

good luck on the move...

You might well find yourself 'back' on OM before you realise it. As a Brit living and working in France, I find myself here as much for the banter and atmosphere as for the outdoors content. In fact, it provides me with a sense of connection to the UK.

So I'll say 'au revoir' and not 'adieu'...

Hi Lloyd, all the best for NZ! It wasn't you that set fire to the speed camera was it- and you're doing a runner

Cheerio, Lloyd! I only met you the once and couldn't keep up.

Good luck!

My bro lives in Devonport, Auckland and will bore the arse off you about the country given half a chance.

He has gone half mad. He is a rugby/All Blacks supporter/bore now.

However, to his credit, the other half of his mind which is hovering on the edge still supports the mighty Everton.

Lloyd you lucky lucky bugger.  All the best and good luck to you.  Get me a job over there as well please.

Best of luck with the life down under, Lloyd! At least you'll have a half-decent cricket team to support

Hey Lloyd good to hear from you and all the best for the move. Mark Dangerfield, ex BM marketing guy is a Kiwi and moved home a year or so back and is really well plugged into the MTB scene out there, plus Gary, who you may have met, lived out there for a while, drop me a line if you want contacts.

Also if you do a search on On The Hill features, there's one about tramping in NZ by Gerard Brown, who's an ex-Berghaus designer, now working for Icebreaker has moved out there and is a nice fella.

Deeply envious, NZ's been on my list of destinations for ages

Phillip, honest it wasn't me that set fire to the speed camera, I notice it's been repaired now.

There's certainly things I'll miss, but I'm looking forward to the move, only downside is I'll be moving from one winter shortly into another.
