Hi Om's

I'm off up to the Lakes on Monday 21st May for 3 days. If anyone's about during this period who feels like a day hike or two then please let me know. I'm not camping (this time), but I would appreciate some guidance about where to go from some people who've been there, done that etc.

I will be based at Gilpin Lodge Nr Windermere on Monday, and then B&B's for the remaining two nights.

Incidentally there are a couple of LDNP guided walks over this period

Simon

There's also a Voluntary Ranger led guided walk to Latrigg on Tuesday 22nd as well.

It starts at the Moot Hall in Keswick, then goes along the railway footpath and through Brundholme Woods and then up onto Latrigg.   The view from Latrigg, overlooking Derwent Water, has to be one of the best views in the Lakes.

Please be aware that the guided walks that you have listed, as well as the Latrigg one, state that appropriate footwear is essential - which means for these walks that you must wear boots.   I know that a lot of people, including myself, don't wear boots on some walks, but the walks have been risk assessed by the LDNPA, so the walk leaders have to abide by the rules.   There is a very good chance, that you will not be allowed on the walk, if you don't wear boots.
