First Hello

Just though I'd say hello, I've been lurking around the forum without posting for a few weeks and thought it's time I made a contribution.

Brief bio: I'm 33, from North Wales, I live about an hour from Snowdonia. Married with 3 children. (all of whom I'm trying to get into walking)

I recently completed the national 3 peaks challange in 24hrs. My first major walking acheviment.

This has given me the bug for the outdoors, sadly my wife doesn't quite share my passion .... yet.

Hello Rodney

Just one bit of advice...Don't encourage your wife to `share you passion', then you can get away on your own or with your new OM chums

Mick, I know of several OM couples who 'share their passion' on wildcamps...

Welcome Rodney, hope you're successful in getting the kids out there...

Thanks for the welcomes,

I've just managed to convince my wife to come out on a bank holiday walk. I'm trying to break her in gentley so we're going to Loggerheads (it's part of the Clwydian Range). If we're feeling positive we may venture on to Moel Famau.....

The children seem in high spirits at least.

I'll let you know how it goes

Rod

I was up Moel Famau, for the first time in a few years, just a few weeks ago. A nice wee hill with great, extensive views. And relatively easy access for your wife and the kids too .

But quite likely to be mobbed on a nice day. If you can persuade them to walk on over the ridge to the north, even a little way, you'll lose the crowds and hopefully give her a real sense of what walkingto get away from everything can be like....

Hope it goes well!

Hello there Rodney and welcome to the OM forum! Will there be a second hello there then, following this 'first' one?!
