help needed

Hello.

 My name is Scott, I live in the north east about 5 miles away from sunderland. I am wanting to go wild camping, I have all the gear (i think), I just need that extra push to get out there.

Is there anyone who is part of any camping/walking clubs or can give me any advice etc to help me get my 1st night under my belt?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Scott

Welcome to the forum.

If you search there are a number of threads ( I would try and find them but in a hurry today)  that give advice. 

The main one I believe would be, on your first trip. Camp relatively close to either your car or civilisation. That way, if you need to bail out you can do with ease.

Wild camping is about being organised and prepared really.

In respect of clubs etc, I'm southern based and have no idea up north. 

Keep your eyes on the meets forum, and you may find some being organised soon. In fact I think there is a meet end June, in N Yorkshire, but not sure if it's wild camping .

Chewie, I have an idea of where i could camp for my first trip, it is only 3 -4 mile away so i will probably walk there. plenty of places to pitch the tent. I will try and have a look at some threads tomorrow.
