Hello all, I have stumbled upon this gem of a forum. It is so active and everyone seems quite knowledgeable.

I write a hiking blog, it is only a few weeks only, and only discussing beginner points at the moment, but please feel free to check it out at

As I said it is early doors, and may not be much help to most of you, but keep checking it will get there.

I hope to learn a lot from this forum!!

So, you're from Swansea, eh? You forget to mention in your blog that there's a vastly superior city to Swansea just a few miles east up the M4

Nothing wrong with Swansea, MK, well, plenty actually - I used to reside in Cwmdu.

Alec, have you tried Compeed plasters for blisters? Better than band aids in my opinion.

Ah good point,I might change that. I don't personally use plasters anyway, I'm a big fan of zinc oxide tape, does the job perfectly.

ZO is good for stopping blisters but compeed is great if you do get them though.
