Hi everyone, I'm the newbie on here. I live in Broadstairs and spend a lot of time walking the dog along the East Kent beaches. I have big ambitions to walk the Pyrennes in 2014 and will be on the look out for walking buddies with a taste for excitement and adventure.

Broadstairs is lovely, I adore the Pizza restaurant that has a wee balcony overlooking the prom, the best ever sea food pizza in the world. Had a beach hut in Whistable for many years, gorgeous part of the world, miss it heaps but love being on edge of Wales, Peaks and Lakes here.  Nice to meet you

Broadstairs Folk Week - I am told this year Ursula Holdon Gill is performing every morning for the kids, well worth a look/listen, she is able to pitch her material in such a way that makes it funny for parents as well.

Hi everyone, thank you for your welcome messages.

Broadstairs is a lovely little town, not only to visit for the day...but also to live in. It is fairly quiet with a large elderly population.  Good schools,  plenty of pubs and lovely beach walks.

The restuarant you referred to Annie  is Posillipo's, it's been in the same family for yrs and is one of Broadstairs best resturants.

Every summer Broadstairs hosts folk week, which is the busiest time of the yr for our small town. Camping facilities are hosted at the local schools to accommodate the large influx of festival goers. There is enterainment every morning for young children up to the age of approx 11yrs provided by the hobby horse club, where Clarence the dragonmakes an appearence.. Much of the entertainment is free, although you will be asked to make donations here and there. There is a wonderful atmosphere in the town, book early as the town fills up quickly.
