Where's it gone, Jon? One minute it was there, the next it was gone!

Erm, I refer the honorable gentleman to another forum thread and a less anachronistic re-write. The wimmin did happen on July 4, but it was two years ago, everyone say oooooops...

Just reading thru' an old edition of Lakes Mountain Accident Records.

Party of 2 aged 72 & 16, reported themselves lost at Scafell Pike. After a search of 6 hours+ involving 53 personnel from 5 MRTs, they were found on top of Glaramara. Unhurt.
Piggin' Glaramara! It's MILES away! Christ knows how they found them!

Jeannie that really does defy belief...I mean For F#ck's sake......

The most common injury actually seemed to be fractured ankles, often by slipping on wet grass.

There are LOTS of people reporting themselves lost on Scafell Massif BTW.

The reports say about the adequacy of the victims' clothing, booties and experience.
Quite a few of the twisted ankles are from inadequate footwear.

Arghhhhhhh - is it the Ben Nevis 'trainer' man???????

Easy to twist an ankle on Scafell...all those bloody rocks.

What they need is a nice level pathway, that'll reduce the injuries...

With a handrail and a hot dog stand every 50 yds and a little stall selling replica footy shirts....

JUST SAY NO!!!!!!!!!

Actually Nice Alex (you'll know why I called you that if you catch another thread LOL) the book details call-outs from the whole Lakes area. Including helping police retrieve bodies found hanged from trees etc - all the stuff that doesn't get into anything but the very local press. I know that people admire the Police, Ambulance drivers etc, but the MRTs are unpaid volunteers and IMO deserve govt funding.

Stuff the M Dome! Give them new Landys!

People "admire the police"???????????????, don't understand, round here, they turn up 5 hours after you phone up to report someone for sneaking round the back of your neighbours house with a crowbar, but the minute you go over a speed limit...... rant off,
