Sorry if thus has already been mentioned, but this weeks Open Country on Radio 4 is about SARDA in Snowdonia.

"Helen Mark is in Snowdonia with the Search and Rescue Dog Association of Wales to find out how these very special dogs, and their handlers, are trained."

It was repeated this morning, lfenbo. I've asked Rob Johnson who's the SARDA Wales press officer whether it'll be available as a podcast.

He was on it with his dog Skye who since the programme was made has qualified as a novice search dog, Helen Howe and her dog Cluanie have since qualified as full mountain dog, and within hours were on the search on Cader Idris for the bloke who sadly fell and died a few weeks ago, and last week Iain Nicholson and his trailing dog Mij who featured at the end of the programme found two people on two different searches, one after the other.

Emmer was the 'dogsbody' who was describing the role we bodies play in training SARDA dogs
