- and on route from Birmingham.

Number One son sprung something of a surprise last night - it seems I am to take him around some universites for their open days. That would be Thursday Birmingham - Friday Leeds - Saturday Uni East Anglia, Norwich. This week.

Can anyone suggest a bunkhouse in the north Peaks, close enough to get to Leeds for 09:30 start on Friday? Probably around Kinder or north area? I know a couple a bunkhouses further south (Buxton, Castleton) but that would be a bit tight for time.

We should be able to get a bit of a walk in with luck and long evenings - even if it's a quick scamper up Bleaklow. And save a few pennies on hotel rates. Friday will be a looong drive from Leeds - probably leaving about 15:00 - to Norwich. I can't imagine there's many bunkhouses that way, so it will have to be a B&B Friday night. Unless you know better?

All suggestions welcome chaps!

I live just north of Barnsley about 2 miles from J38 on the M1 motorway and I used to work in Leeds . The M1 gets pretty gridlocked on occasions in the morning rush hour and to get to Leeds from nth Derbyshire you are going to hit Sheffield rush hour traffic as well. Both Leeds Universities have most of their campuses north of the City. You could be pushed to get there for 9.30
I'm not being very helpful but traffic is a problem. If there is any bunkhouse around Ilkley Otley area north of Leeds it might be better.

That is very helpful, thanks Nick. I was wondering what the roads were like. I'll rethink - anyone know a good bunkhouse to the north of Leeds?
