Singing praises instead of slagging off

When we arent happy about something we normally rant about it and everyone knows, very very occassionally we give praise.

I bought my Symat about 9 months ago and didn't have the reciept and one of the welds between the tubes went.

So I emailed Lyon (the UK service point or what ever) had a very prompt reply and a return form.

3 days after sending mine back a brand new mat arrived. 

IMPRESSIVE.

Lyon is a brilliant distributor. I had a similar situation where I lost the rope strap for my Deuter bag. Emailed for a replacement, arrived a few days later, free of charge. On another occasion they attempted to source an old Petzl part for me I needed to repair my headlamp.

Always willing to help. Wish more companies would take a leaf out of that book!

All right then:  I had a Fat Airic mat, from those brilliant people at Alpkit.  Little used, but I'd been thinking for a while it was going down, so tried to find the hole.  Failed, in spite of immersing it as much as I could in a bath and applying pressure, so suspected it was porosity in the fabric.  emailed Alpkit, very helpful response saying send it to them etc.  Net result, replacement imminent.  And they were aware I had not bought it recently, too.  This seems typical of these people, always top class customer service.  Honestly, I cannot praise them highly enough, for this and other similar things.  Isn't it nice to deal with such a company!

Always great to get fantastic service - Perhaps we need a new section on the Forum to promote these positives.
