I was searching for light weight beer options to save carrying a bottle or two of real ale when camping and came across

this

the story is from 2002 so i wonder if any more developments have been made.

Non-alcoholic :-(

The best ultralite alcohol is to take your trangia meths and water it down to 40% proof with highland spring water :-)

and go blind? thats gonna be nasty if your up somewhere!!

however to the best of my knowledge the cure for methanol poisoning is lots of high proof ethanol so at least u'll get dibs on any whisky going lol ;)

I don't like tabbing in/out with cans, so filled a nalgene with Sake and took that. Next time I might be less stingy and take something bigger than 120mL

Yeah, don't drink meths, it was a poor joke!

The most efficient alcohol imbibing system is to take cask strength whiskey at 70%. The proper way to drink it is to dilute with at least with the same amount of water to get normal strength whiskey.

Me too.
A combination of hard walking and alcohol tend to give me horrendous cramp.

Thanks to my new-found love of light-weight hiking, I know have enough capacity to shove a few litres of wine my rucksack for three-nighters.

I too, get cramps the day after. Although, for some reason, these tend to be mostly located in my head...
