I wonder if I put my face up would there be any ridicle as on this site there seems to be a general p*** take of people with beards, what do you think?

I've got one too Lance. Go for it, mate. Mine's a rakishly elegant goatee (in my opinion). Are you the full face hedge or something more exotic?

No Lance, the p*ss-take is of red-socked ramblers who hold one hand over an ear while singing folk songs and drinking real ale with Jesus sandals and socks - with beards...not the same at all.

Merry Wotsit :)

A goatee!!! Good grief, I can't see the point in having a beard AND shaving!

Its jealousy on my part I reckon Lance.

Partly cos if I try and grow a beard I look like I've got mange, and partly cos I feel its unfair for people to have more hair on their face than I can grow on my head!!

Right, better go and do the christmas thang.

Enjoy.

He He,

John, that is a brilliant observation!!!

Si,

Iused to grow a beard every winter but as age is catching up all I can do is grow a grey patchy one. Nothing looks more "scruffy" than a half grey half dark beard and that "just for men," what the hell is THAT all about.

I must admit that I have not grown one for a for a few years now so my receeding hairline was not a consideration then, whereas now, I have to agree with you!

I will just stick to my "tush" whixh I have had since I was frist able to grow one and which constitutes one of the "dark" patches of my facial hair!!!!

No ridicule from me either. Nowt wrong with a beard, I usually go for a extra winter coating.

Ah but, Mr C and Mr B, just because you can't see the point doesn't mean there isn't one. :-p

My beloved likes it that way and if she's happy that's good enough for me.

I love a bit of non-conformity. Beards? Red socks? Real ale? That's all fine by me. Rebel and be damned, that's what I say :-)
26/12/2003 at 13:11
Alison - but what about the "ramblers who hold one hand over an ear while singing folk songs"....??
26/12/2003 at 14:09
Ramblers are lovely.....

....I have to be nice about them; my mum's one and I need her to come and help Bob with the kids so I can go to Scotland ;-)
26/12/2003 at 15:36
Yeah but please tell me she doesn't wear Jesus sandals with socks and have a bushy beard.....
;o)

I also do alot of mountain biking (i've not hit any ramblers yet!!)
But I must say I was thinking about wearing red socks and sandles whilst on my bike. Do you feel it would get me closer to my fellow ramblers. But do you think ankle high or knee high socks are better?

Is it me or is every one drunk ( sour grapes, Im working)
26/12/2003 at 23:43
Extremely sober Jules. Just bonkers!

I know this string is tongue in cheek and I also ridicule the stereotypical "rambler," but we have to thank them as an organisation for their persistance in hounding the government over access rights to the countryside!
27/12/2003 at 12:01
I'm absolutely indifferent to ramblers, they do their thing and seem to enjoy themselves. I woudn't do what they do or wear what they wear although I did have a beard for a few weeks once (A proper beard not one of those goatee things for the vain).
27/12/2003 at 14:35
Do the male ramblers have beards too then????
27/12/2003 at 16:30
LOL at Tony:-)
27/12/2003 at 21:30
John the goatee ain't because I'm vain. It just makes me even more lovely.

I sense you have unresolved facial hair issues, mi companero. :-P
