How disappointing. I thought you'd done it deliberately, and that your real name was in fact Edited.

Oh, I wondered what that button did...

I'm looking into the signature thing. I appear to have the magic forum power to add and edit other people's signatures, but as far as I can see, you can't actually add a signature yourself... It's a good job I'm repsonsible and vaguely sane...

I bet you had to look up Portentous

I bet I'll regret that

I notice the "Link" doesnt seem to be working , I had to copy and paste a webpage.

edit, When in Bennachie and you clicl Latest Post at times the your latest post isn't the latest one, if I posted 15mins ago it still doesnt register. it used to register straight away on the old site.

If you put a sentance in the pointy brackets the sentance doesnt appear in the post but it is on my screen as I type.

How do you get it to go to the last post as it seems to go to the top of the page of the last post, then you have to scroll down the page to find it, with the old one it went to the bottom of the page.

a pain isn't it?

On Bennachie it's currently taking you to the page before last, as if it's trying to go to the 'last read' posting, but not getting it right.

Yeah, that racks me off too.

On the 'Latest posts' page if I click on the little green arrowhead where the text says something like "Today at 08:27 by Whoever" the link takes me to the top of that thread's most recent page, not to the most recent post at the foot of the page.

I know it's a small glitch and that the answer is simply to scroll down. But it's irritating nonetheless.

I've just noticed another small glitch.

When adding names to a meet thread which uses the numbered list format,  the numerals appear outside the "speech bubble" text frame. See the Brecon beacons Meet thread for an example.

A minor thing but irritating nonetheless.

Getting a bit peed off with email notifaction links taking me to the first page of thread postings, as opposed to the latest page. OK, so no big problem clicking through, but it does make things less 'smooth' than they were previously.

Just spotted that the 'print thread' option has gone.

Anyone seen where it's got to, or has it been removed?

This option was useful

a) for thread archiving

b) for reading long threads without having to keep hitting 'next page'

Ideally, the latter would be fixed with a 'show number of posts per page' user setting.

I note that very few of our concerns have been addressed... How about it, Jon; you ask for our 'help' and comments, and then apparently do nothing to address them...?

I noticed it too CP.

As you know (as you pointed it out to me) it's the only way to see some of my deleted posts so i used it now and then to see the complete thread.

Well, the print thread code must still be on the site, as you can access new threads by constructing an appropriate URL, e.g.

http://www.outdoorsmagic.com/forum/printthread.asp?UTN=54265&URN=6

The thread number (UTN) is present in the new style URLs

http://www.outdoorsmagic.com/forum/soapbox/help-us-trial-our-new-forum/54265-7.html

(as the xxxxx in [...]/xxxxx-p.html), but you need to know the forum codes (URN=6 is 'soapbox').

A button would make things a lot simpler.

Oh, and notifications seem to have disappeared.  Again...

Returned to having to F5 every time I change to a new page, even in same thread.

I still can't use the quote function, or post links.

Latest IE.
