Anyone noticed that Blacks are selling the Hinkes jacket for £179.99 from their website?

Oh gawd, yes you can find it here

If you scroll down to the bottom of the page and look at the FAQ section, it tells you there how to do links :-)

I thought it was narrower than average across the shoulders btw, so trying before buying is a good call.

Cheers for the tip Jon :-)

You're obviously just a beefy dude!

I have wide shoulders relative to the rest of me :-) normally with Berghaus that's not a problem, even with their more technical jackets, but the Hinkes one did feel slightly tight across the shoulders. I can still wear it, but I'm aware that it's a little tighter than most, if that makes sense. It probably won't be an issue for most users, but if you're broad in the shoulder, it may be.

Jon- would you recommend the jacket? I'm off to do an Outdoors Education degree, and I'm looking for a fairly tough jacket that's gonna last. I was looking at Packlite, but have decided it's not going to last the course. I nipped down Blacks earlier, and like the look of this Hinkes jacket- I actually found it a bit more of a generous fit without it being baggy (I'm a 15st short arse). I have a friend of a friend who has provided me with a 20% off voucher for Blacks, bringing this jacket down to £144. Is there any other jacket I should be checking out? How does it compare to the Rab Latok for example?

sorry for so many q's.
