If you could go walking with anyone, who would it be?

If you could go walking with any prominent outdoor personality/celeb or whatever, who would it be? Bonington? Ben Fogle? Julia Bradbury? Janet Street Porter maybe... And why, roughly.

Fancy spending a day talking about mountaineering disasters with Joe Simpson, while teetering along a knife-edge ridge?

Ray Mears comes across as intelligent and knowledgeable so would be good company.

Plus he would be able to knock up a luxurious shelter complete with cocktail bar using nothing more than bootlaces and sheep droppings so I wouldn't have to carry any backpacking kit.

Also he's a bit of a chubster so hopefully I could keep up with him.

I'd go camping with Sofia Vergara out of Modern Family. (They went for a walk up a trail in one of the episodes so it counts.)

I'd forgotten about Ray... not Bear Grylls then? I have a feeling Bear might get a bit wearing, always wanting to descend steep crags using bootlaces for protection and stuff...

I'd like to climb up something not very psycho or vertical with Andy Kirkpatrick - very entertaining guy, and likes Star Trek too

Definitely Joss Naylor.

... Janet Street Porter maybe...

Dear God no!

Ooh tough one, it'd be either Mr Mears or Mr Fiennes for me I think, saying that I'd could quite happily listen to Mr Hinkes all day too.

David Attenborough.

He has such passion for all things natural ....and he won't be around for ever so it would be nice to meet him...and hear that voice in person.

Iain Stewart, Geologist.

He could explain the rocks with reference to food eg fold mountains are like squashed up layer cake....and then we could eat it.

My Dad!

Unfortunately his knees and hips are screwed now and i didn't get into Mountains till it was too late for us to walk together! He loves Scotland as much as me and it would have been nice to share the experience of sharing the top of a Mountain.

I just take six million photo's and make him look at them all when i get home...

(PS. My choice is the "whatever")

With an open mind and no expectations, how could I be disappointed ?

One day hope to get to an OM meet...... and I look forward to the pleasure.
