Parky, did you break Rocky's Olympics thread? I can't access it now!

Me neither - I get an "oops" error page

03/08/2012 at 22:13

Same here.

Kate - just to confirm, Andy playing on Sunday

Yep, had been down as tomorrow on the BBC website earlier. But then, the BBC's website's been pretty shit at providing useful info on the scheduling!

But as I said on the other thread, I think Murray has as much of a chance as Fed of getting that gold.

Not knowingly. I got that message at lunchtime when i edited a post for my usual awful spelling. Only pressed submit reply this time though.

3 sets? equality and about time too.

Its working for me...

Possibly because I used non A-Z, 0-9 ASCII characters in the title to try and replicate the Olympic rings

Oh well, a clean start is probably preferable!

Just seen that the 34 stone Judo champ mentioned on the other thread has been beaten!

Yip, guess that's one of those examples of 'quality beats quantity'

Why can't the summer Oilypics include an aquatic 'luge'? Then it would truly be an aquatic centre...

There are 3 slides at Cardiff International Pool, if anyone wants to have a meet there and compete in Milly's water luge competition let me know!

Milly's already down for the Absinthe Consumption Challenge at Dartmoor part 3... I hope I'll not get spread too thinly

Anyway, we'll not have a 'play off'; it has to be a repêchage

WTF is a 'luge'? Or, for that matter, a 'repêchage'?

Absinthe challenge? You'll go blind, you will. And mad!

Yeah, I got that "Oops" error right from the off so it was definitely your fault .

Back O/T: I thought that Rebecca Adlington's thinly-disguised "Fuck you" at the Gold Obsessed media was marvellous. Well done, that girl

A luge is a tea-tray used to slide down slippery slopes (usually icy ones) in elite sports, but used by generations of British kids on snowy slopes.

A repechage (can't be arsed with the hat) is a posh play-off.

I don't think you need worry about Milly going mad.

ITYM "Skeleton bobsleigh" rather than luge.  A luge is an extra large ice-skate used for sledging AFAICT.

Pete.

Yeah, I think you're probably right, but it doesn't make sense: the 'skeleton bob' then is nothing like a big bob since that does have runners on it. Really the 'luge' ought to be the skeleton bob and vice versa.

A new Olympic sport this morning - swimsuited tarmac surfing, OUCH!!

I guess they shut the road for the womens' triathlon but they didn't clean the traffic grease off it.

A fantastic photo finish at the end - I wouldn't like to have to decide the winner when you can't separate two athletes by a hundredth of a second at the end of three disciplines and two hours effort.

Too clever by half, that

Perhaps it was the LOCOG "Brand Police" that had the thread 'decommissioned'?
