Why the first rather than last page of a thread?

Can I set up the 'latest posts' button to default to the last page in a thread, rather than the first page?
I'd like to see the latest page in a thread if I click on 'latest posts' ...........just saying
Actually ......... correction. It seems random. Sometimes it takes me to the first post, other times it does go to the last. Something I'm doing wrong or a glitch?
Click on the title and it takes you to top of the topic (first post/page).
Click the green arrow on the right next to the last posters name and it should take you to the top of the last page.
