"The Mountain Rescue team return for a second series, minus Douglas who is recovering from his accident. A pregnant woman, a fall from a waterfall and a stray hang-glider keep the team busy."

Marvelous. Must set the video.

And as if by magic... A news story appeared.

Incidenally the BBC press release describing Cal's fall in Turkey claims he fell 100 metres before his mate held him on the rope. They were moving together, with 100 metres of rope out, sheesh...

Oh, and the mountain they were climbing was 13,000 metres high :-) (sic.)

Does Mrs Ford share your positive sentiments towards Annie? Don't worry gurlz, next time we'll feature one of the hunky rescue team laddies... Honest.

Only if it's Peter....

Well funny you should say that...
25/05/2003 at 18:58
Heh, just watched it...I must say it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Sunday evening and not on the hills, damn exams, damn them to hell...

Screwgate onto steel cable? I would have expected some sort of pully, heh.

25/05/2003 at 19:44
sheesh, I nearly choked on my Tunnocks Caramel Wafer when that Giselles' (sp?) waters broke!

Maybe just a tad too much detail?
25/05/2003 at 20:16
Glyn, I agree. And a Lil' predictable, as soon as you saw she was pregnant, you knew she was going to go into labor on the Heli.

Oh well, guess we are expecting too much from the BBC :P

Just watched it meself...

You should have seen Sam's face at the same scene.

Couldn't figure out why they had to ab all the way down the waterfall.

Or why Robbie Williams had to ab down to the hang glider fella with all that gear on his harness, which then mangaged to disappear on his way back up, as he was being pulled up.

I actually find myself spending most of the time label-spotting.
Please, somebody tell me I'm not alone.

Glyn.

Yep, spotted loads, including a nice Ospray bag.
25/05/2003 at 20:43
and lots of ME jackets.
25/05/2003 at 21:08
Ya, lots of ME jackets, all CAMP helmets, some Lowe Alpine, heh. You can tell I was trying to avoid studying.

Didn't notice the rack dissapear tho'.

You would have thought they'd choose climbers first, actors second...Not actors and teach em to climb. Heh.
25/05/2003 at 21:45
A bit like The Exorcist where they used 'real' priests? (With the one exception of Max Von Sydow).

Spent most of my time location spotting. Steall waterfall looked a little low and it took the heli ages to get from there to Fort Bill.

Missed the disappearing rack but did spot a disappearing rope. Our hero when he was on his way out to the hang glider was tied on but when the pair landed back on the ledge before the raise he was not.

Now going to miss the rest of the series due to work, damn... I'll just have to wait for the second series to come out on DVD. ;-)
