Hi guys, sorry about the persistent forum spamming. It's an issue we're very aware of and working behind the scenes to sort out - the tech guys have a forum upgrade in development which will specifically address the problem along with some other stuff.

It's basically down to programmes uses by spammers to improve their search rankings by planting links on forums - hence the ridiculous names.

In the short term, we'll continue to remove them as soon as we're aware of the posts - thanks to everyone who takes the time to hit the forum alert button - even at weekends.

Unfortunately sometimes we are completely out of radio contact, which means spam may hang around for longer than we'd like, but mostly we get rid pretty quickly.

Not very happy.

We can do stuff like blocking whole ranges of IP addresses if we have to. Our tech guys are looking at the specifics. I look at it as being more like shooting fish in a barrel, they can't get away and satisfyingly, more appear to replace the ones you've just wiped out. Positive thinking

When you say forum alert button John, do you mean the report to moderator? For some reason there are buttons I cant see on the iPad so just want to check before pressing the wrong thing!

As for the ridiculous names, I think Florida mcnutt has got to be the worst ever.
