I forgot my spd cycling shoes once after a 6 hour drive up to Braemar! Only found out when I woke up at 3am in a cold sweat ! What was supposed to be the start of a 100mile three day mtb trip started with a 100 mile round trip in the car to the nearest bike shop!

They're the first things when packing now - still haven't lived it down 4 years later

Sleeping bag liners on trips where I need them for staying in Alpine huts and the like. I usually end up buying another one, so I've got about five now.

I know an officer in the Air Cadets who left a Cadet behind in Eskdale! after a DoE Exped

Its bad enough leaving one behind but the worst thing is after stops in Ambleside and Todmorden he still didnt realise till the Cadets parents rung him up!

Oh dear. I imagine he got into a lot of trouble over that.  It's every leader's worst nightmare. I get a bit obsessive about counting the group nowadays.
