Walking through Castleton t'other day we stopped at "the castle" for dinner, I'd not gone before as it looks like a standard chain owned place, I have to say though that I had the best Sunday roast I've ever eaten in there, and a really good fish and chips the next day.

I still recommend the Bull though if you're just after a pint.

I second the recommendation for the castle, great food, great service.
Also, try the Robin Hood Pub, just outside Buxton, near a campsite, forgotten the name so not too helpful I know, but the pub does GREAT food.

If its the one I'm thinking of then its actually on the A619 about 2 miles east of baslow. About 15 miles from Buxton.Have never been in the pub so I can't vouch for the food but I have turned up to find the campsite under a couple of inches of water.

Probably not the same one, you could walk into Buxton from the camsite in ten minutes, also campsite had terraces on a hill, so pretty heavy rain needed to flood it!!
Come to think of it, with my dodgy memory it might not have even been Buxton!! (Think it was though)
