Well on Sunday luch I went to a veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery posh restaurant for my mother's birthday lunch, and my brother (aged 21!) decided to start a scrap, so i obviously decided to go along with it! Nearly got thrown out!
In the evening went to Dol Gam campsite near to Capel Curig and got bitten to pieces by the f*ck*ng midges! still scratching. Went to the pub in the evening, and halfway through winning a game of pool very easily, realised that I didn't have my boots with me in Wales! "Never mind, I have these new trainers. They're Meindl, and they've got good grip" et al!

Next day (after checking to make sure I really didn't have my boots) set off on a 15km walk (nothing compared with my 55 - actually 60 - mile Ten Tors exped). we did Pen yr Ole Wen. Feet were fine. Scrambles? No worries!
Went to pub and realisd I now had no money! Borrowed £10 for some food and a couple of pints of Flowers IPA (best bitter in't world!).

Next day we did Carnedd Moel Siabod, and I decided that this is my favorite mountain in the entire world so far! An excellent scramble from the South (I think), plus a lovely walk out along the Moel Siabod ridge. Lahdahdah lovely day &c &c (&c means etc for the uncultured one's present!).

Next day sorting out my bags I found a 10 kilo rock in my day pack. Some B*ST*RD had put it in during the lunch stop. My shoulders still hurt from carrying 25 as opposed to 15 kgs!

Anyway, not a lot happenned until this evening, when I went to my Venture groups AGM, and we re-elected positions. A lady who I think is extremely sexually attractive, nominated me for the Vice-Chairman posistion, the gay bloke in our unit seconded me, and I got the post! Then next week I go into exams proper!.

What a strange time!

Once put a couple of rocks in a blokes rucksack outside the NDG before going up to Stickle Tarn. I started feeling bad when he was complaining his knees hurt on the way up (have since been told this feeling was "guilt" and have found that it soon passes) so I told him about them. He could only find one of the rocks, even though they weren't small!

Needless to say I was not "Mr Popular" when we stopped at the tarn and he found the second rock. Ho hum.

PS Andrew, sounds like a bit of a quiet week for a student / venture.

PPS Bloody good luck with being chairman, if my experience of ventures still holds then you'll need it!!

PPPS When are you changing to Scout Network and Explorers then?

We went all the way to Skye when one of our group found he'd forgot his boots, on another occasion I got to Dow Crag to find I'd forgot my harness, DOH!!, got everything else though, which meant carrying the rack all day for nowt!!!!

I think it was a good move..........

Think you're right, looks like I'll be out of a job soon as most of our troop is/will be over 14 in September.

Still, at least I'll have more time to get out in the hills I guess. :-(

Well if you fancy commuting to Wiltshire I’d be only to happy to offer you a ‘job’!

perhaps I'll start a Scouting thread to see if there are any others with connections like ours!

I knew I forgot something. If anyone has apole where the bottom section has some snowflakes near the "STOP MAX" line, then I've got a spare bottom section without the keepy ony thing for you!

I'm only Vice chairman so I don't have to do much, just organise drinking games... I guess it hasn't changed at all Si(C)!

Oh and Si. We have decided not to change as the people in charge have no sense of the real world. I'm not 18 yet, but I drink more per week than my dad!!! They want to seperate the under 18's so that it won't be illegal for them to drink. We may just go from Scouts to Scout Network (or whichever the 18yrs+ one is!)
