Zulu on the telly?

I was heart broken to find that I'd missed this, then I checked the schedules and realised that it wasn't on...

I apologise profusely if we've inadvertently ruined your Christmas, but hey, wasn't the special Christmas editon of The Office a cracker.

Top film. I watched it, whilst "working" on Boxing Day. I say working, I did absolutely nothing for 24 hours.

It was Boxing Day. My brother-in-law got so drunk that he was adamant that they'd changed the ending!

One of the best British movies. Made in my old country. Very authentic. When ever I watch it I see the backdrop of the Drakensberg montains and think of the many happy days I spent there.

Chief Mangasutu Buthelezi is still leader of the Zulu people.

THe DVD has loads of extras and a great "the making of..." thing. Apparently the Zulu's didn't have enough people to play the whole amount used in the battle so they had white boards made and had two Zulus on the end of a row of boards holding them up.

Oh and the Zulu's had to be told lots of times NOT to overact when they died. No that they listened. And that's what makes it that much better!

If any of you ever visit South Africa, you have to visit these old battle fields. Rorke's Drift is well marked as is Isandlwana and Blood River.

The old Boer War battlefields are also worth visiting.

Did you know it was the British that invented concentration camps?

I stand corrected, but at least it proves that I didn't watch the bloody thing. I'm always distressed that Michael Caine lasts so long.
