Why only do it in a men's last too? Some of us are women!

MikeyT

see here if you do want some bargain priced rather large boots

Could be that they actually reflect correct sizing now - my mate's just bought a pair to replace his old sl's and took a 42 in the new one, but a 44 in the old pair...

"... more egonomic last and foam 'hell' padding for better rear foot fit" haha... nice!!

And can anyone tell if they will do them in wide fitting like the old ones? With all the blurb talking about how wonderfully close fitting, with a new last etc  I suspect that they will no longer suit my podgy feet. Shame as I liked the SLs (and luckily saw 'progress' like this coming so picked up a spare pair of old style ones ).

to Gneiss Boots - no, I asked that too. just the one width fitting, somewhere between the old 'regular' and 'wide'.

to Mole - thanks, but I bought the 'old style' Scarpas

Saw something like an SL in size 50 in Nevissports Kendal I think. They looked huge!! I'm a size 9 which is 43 IIRC but an extra 7 on that makes the sho look almost barge like. What is 50 in old sizes? what 13, 14 or higher??

BTW what does tha activ mean? Is that a marketing phrase to get people to buy the new release or is it really a big improvement for some reason?

I'm a 13 = 49, so 50 would probably be 14. Yes, my wife regularly reminds me I'm an ogre...

Well, I think it depends, mikey. If you were 5'2" you'd be hobbit with those feet, but you might be well over 6' and perfectly proportioned

That's interesting, might try on a set of size 48s out of curiosity (just had a set of size 49 SLs resoled, but one needs to plan ahead when one's feet are this size).
