Hi, in the recent review by Chris Towsend he states that the vestibule is on the wrong side of the tent and he has to use his left hand for cooking. Am I missing something here? Surely if he turns himself through 180 degrees and lies the other way round that solves the problem? Or is the floor plan asymmetrical? Can we have some clarification here please?

I'm guessing the inner door on the Soulo must be on the lh side, if looking from outside towards the door?

Quite possible. Hadn't quite looked at it like that but then I don't do any camping, at least not in tents, at the moment. (I use a bivvy bag.)

The entrance isn't symmetrical - here are some pics. The tent entrance is one of the six-panels made by the poles, the adjacent panel is part of the vestibule, and the door in the inner is on one side. So, to cook lying down you would have to lie on your right arm or propped up on your right elbow. There are a couple of video clips on youtube - here and here.

Thanks for that. The pictures and video clip helped a lot.

of course if you are left handed its not a problem......

Hilly should make two models a lefthand and a righhand model

A bit dumb from Hilly since the succes of the Akto to make such a design mistake.

And can you then zip a LH and a RH model together?

The Staika also has the same 'handedness' on both doors. Guess HB like that sort of thing (though the Allak has mirror symmetry instead of rotational, so you can lie on either side and pick the most convenient door)

Don't really understand the fuss as I don't like cooking lying down anyway. I'd rather sit up and slouch.
