I'm trying to get a reasonably cheap flight to visit the Caucasus mountains flying into Tblisi, Georgia from Manchester. This will be a first exploratory visit for me and I'm hoping to see something of the volcanic landscape of Armenia as well.
eDreams seem to offer the cheapest flight options with good connections using BA/BMI (Manchester-Heathrow-Tbilisi).
But, they wanted me to Fax a copy of the front and back of my Bank Card together with a copy of the ID page of my Passport to confirm the booking!!
Has any come across this before?
I contacted my Bank straight away who immediately deactivated my card and put me in touch with their Fraud Dep't to discuss in more detail.
Hopefully, my bank account is still OK. Now looking to book direct with airlines - higher cost but should be more reliable!!??
Recent summer trips have mainly been in South Eastern Europe (Bulgaria: Pirin; Montenegro; Greece: Agrafa, Smolikas; Romania). Never had any real issues booking flights before.
