Hi All,
I might go to Ireland for a couple of days wand was toying with going here. Any advice on decent links to transport from Dublin or Cork Airports and campsites/bunkhouses in the area.
Cheers.
Hi Wurz,
I am from Cork so know Kerry fairly well.
Getting to the hills in Irleand via public tranpsort can be a bit awkward.
Best bet really is to rent a car if you are stuck for time, something small like a fiesta would be failry cheap.
You could also get a bus or train form Dublin or Cork to Killarney and get a Taxi to Carruntohill, check out http://www.irishrail.ie/ and http://www.buseireann.ie/
I dont think there is any bunkhouses in the area, just hostels.
Cheers,
Stephen
Wurz,
When I was looking at places to stay for weekend, for a proposed meet. It was either, hotels, B & B's or Hostels.
Mostly in or near Killarney, there are some around Caher, on western side of range.

The Black Valley Hostel is not too far from the Reeks, you can do the ridge in a long day from there.
My Avatar photo is the Dvils ladder gully on the way to Carruntohill.
