Hi, I am off to Sweden in February. I was wondering where I could buy threaded gas canisters (for jetboil)....petrol station, hardware shop......? are these readily available?....and would anybody know what they are called in swedish?....thanks

They are readily available - but whether they'll be available in any tiny village is different. The most reliable source are 'Intersport' shops - a chain that is found in most tourist towns. The Swedish word you want is 'gasflaska' - but most folk will understand English.

Quite few of the STF huts have them for sale,e.g Kvikkjokk and some on the Kungsladen. You often find them left in the open Vindskidds, dont rely on them but they are useful to supplement your own.

If you fly into Stockholm you have time to pick up a cylinder if you are continuing by train...the nearest place to the station is a Naturkompaniet store...have a good trip.

Just a small correction to the Swedish: Gas canister = gasbehållare (gasbehollare in Swenglish).

The mountain lodge at Storulvån has a shop which should have gas, or as Chris says Stockholm has everything.
