Availability - and bike hire?

Am possibly joining my son for a couple of weeks on his bike ride to the pyramids. Would like to do the Croatian part, but exactly when I can make it, and therefore where he'll be then, is unclear. Does anyone know about the availability of gas in that area?

Also, can't decide at this early stage, whether to hire a bike there or take my own.  I have found one hire site which looks useful, which can pick the bike up at a different location. But it's about 21 euros per day, which would add up over two weeks. I have not looked hard into the cost of taking mine, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

We found pierceable gas cylinders and I think once the click on bluet valved type. Never screw on cylinders. We took our bikes on the plane and hid the CTC bike sized plastic bag packaging near the air port for the return. The inland petrifying National Park is not to be missed.

Edit that was croatia

Derek, thanks for that - useful.  I assume they were the Camping Gaz type?  I suppose it might be best to buy a stove there - at least that and the cylinders might match!

You haven't been to Bulgaria by any chance, have you?  Might end up going there instead, depending on son's progress and my own work.
