Guided Walking Holiday Suggestions

Dear OM crowd,

I'm going to head off to either Cumbria or Scotland for a guided walking holiday at the end of May, preferably one that caters for singleton's such as myself. Any suggestions on places, prices and specialist companies? A big ask I know, but I'm sure you'll come through? I'm fairly fit, and I'm not finding the Peak District challenging enough. I need to push myself.

Cheers

You might have a look at HF Holidays. They have 2 places in the Lakes and also Scotland. I've been with them many times and done all of the Lakes high peaks.

If you're coming to the Lakes, then you could go on one, or more, of the LDNPA Voluntary Ranger Led guided walks.   Most of them are free, although donations are welcome, and there are different grades, depending on how fit you are.

For example, at the end of May, there is the Wetherlam walk, a walk up to St Sunday Crag, and lots more.

One of the best things about going on these VR led walks is the interesting facts that you'll be told about the area you are walking in.

Hope this helps.

I think one of the most scenic walking areas in Scotland is the NW Highlands.

I would therefore suggest you look at this company for guided walks in that area.

Hi, I have gone on a few guided holidays, in England and parts of Europe, but the best (and most reasonable) by far was the one with the Ramblers http://www.ramblersholidays.co.uk/. Was "only" the Lake District for a New Years walking week, but we all had a ball. The majority of the people in the group were single, but it wasn't promoted as a 'singles holiday'. Wish you a great trip!
