Do you fly business or cattle class?

I guess it depends on how much you want to spend, what industry you work in and what level your at in your company. A senior level manager of a global investment bank is going to want something completely different to a charity worker flying Econony to check some water pump in the back of beyond*

Maybe one of these or these

I have items from both companies and have found them to both to be great in terms of design and ruggedness.

* in a way sad but true!

Eagle Creek are pretty good at this sort of thing.

We have one of their "Quirk" packs for exactly this job and it seems pretty good.  Rohan have a load of EC stuff in their bargain bin since they started doing their own luggage, so have a butchers here and you might find something suitable.

Currently I am using an Eagle Creek laptop backpack which I carried on several tours. It has some features like zip-away connect fit adjustable suspension, converts from backpack to wheeled solution which helps to carry in flights easily where you require luggage to be more compact and expand the bag whenever you need to put some extra stuff in it. I think it would be best option for you.
