Packable Day Pack

Can anyone recommend a day pack in the 20 to 30 litre range that packs up small enough to fit in my backpack when travelling?

It might be easier to find a pack with a lid that converts into a day pack (Macpac) or has a piggy-back add-on option (Osprey).

Failing that, take a look at the Berghaus Cubic 6+15. It's an extendible bum bag that packs down pretty small and works well.

And wow, if you find it on the Berghaus site, there's a link to an ancient OUTDOORSmagic review from when we were very little. Ah, smells like nostalgia.

It is seriously quite effective.

Have a Glissade so the top becomes a basic bumbag. Berghaus looks good though as it would make a side pocket for the bigger rucsac when not in use, cunning.

Describes the site as brand new?

Like I said, it was a couple of years back - three maybe - and the site was brand new. All shiny and unscratched. Free from all those funny blinking ads as well ...

Could try a ultralightweight MM pack. They fit in well most places and don't weigh much (I took a KIMM sack to Peru and Zanskar for use as a daypac and it was fine).

Lowe Alpine do a similar bag to the Berghaus Cubic, holding between 4 & 18 litres. Check out CMM online, under clearance items - only 5 quid!

Ahhhhhhhhhh those were the days, football in the park, jumpers for goalposts, ruddy red cheeks bright eyes, burning small fluffy teddy bears...

Fate took a hand today and whilst out escorting grandmother round garden/castle in alnwick happened upon a karriomr outlet where a KIMM sack but with a bit of thin back padding called a marathon change hands, packs flat and is very light.
