Brilliant weekend. Couldn't have wished for better weather. 20c, blue skies, glorious views (though haze was a factor). Went with 2 work colleagues and a friend. My first time in the Lakes. Certainly more challenging than the Essex flatlands, but did better than i had expected (think i phsyced myself out a bit in the weeks before). Only the very steep bits (last 500 metres up to Skiddaw, for instance), made me struggle.
