The title makes it sound as though we were on a boat today whereas in fact we were on what we regard as one of South Cumbria's finest short walks for those with young ones.
The Helm is part-owned by The Friends of the Lake District whose volunteers are doing a lot of conservation work in the area. It offers a fine ridge walk with fantastic views to all quarters and there is even a pub mid-way (which wasn't visited today) with a play area and a few animals to amuse the youngsters.
Pictures from the walk, done on a glorious day with fine views are now available to view on the website for those wishing to do so.
