A visit to Staffa and Lunga from Mull.

Staffa is awesome - I was really impressed.

Lovely photos Kinley, it must be really stunning as you get closer to the columns.

Cor! Serious basalt! 'Bit touristy' or not, that place looks really good, Kinley

The puffins made me smile too. I'm off to the Farne Islands next week and there are thousands of the little buggers there acting all charming and comical to amuse us tourists.

Excellent Kinley - great photies. That actually prompted me to work out when it was that me & Marion did the same trip, and to my alarm I see it was as far back as 2004. It is a genuinely inspiring place.

Mind you, the weather we had was so appalling that Marion has refused to set foot on a boat any smaller than a car ferry ever since, but it was still a good day oot.

Cracking - top photos! Didn't realise we had rock like that outside of Northern Ireland.

Thanks for sharing.

Some of those pictures are pretty amazing

Very nice; what's the handrail all about, protecting the rock or for wobbly tourists?

Whole thing looks like a big souffle.

Wanna go

Is it just me or do those puffins look a bit too real to be real???

Grand pics, Kinley, thanks.

We didn't find time for the Staffa outing on our first trip to Mull last year, but there are some decent basalt columns on Ulva itself, which is a simple 5 minute ferry hop from the same jetty the Staffa boat uses. Some nice, fairly wild walking to be had too once you get away from the village.

This is the best way to do it:

You're into climbing Kelvin. Get your arse over to Kilt Rocks on Skye.

It would obviously make sense to title the thread with geographical information, so it's clear what's covered, but rather than us dicating what that is, we're open to suggestions.
