Hi,

I'm leaving at about 3 - 4 this afternoon for N Wales, spending the first two nights close to Bangor (graduation ceremony), then into the hills.  Can anyone suggest a good campsite near Bangor?  Simple, quiet etc.

Thanks, Rob.

Treborth campsite - on mainland between the two bridges roundabouts.  opposite Teborth garden centre and the University sport grounds and gardens down the lane.

Otherwise straight road basically with nice views for the walk to Upper Bangor.  30 miins walk if slow.  5 minutes cycle ride

Menai Bridge just round corner or roundabout, walk over old bridge and a few pubs - and a Waitrose for all these rich students

There are places to stay in Menai if you ge too wet camping.

Many thanks all.  I ended up at a site about 3 miles south of Bangor - not ideal but adequate.  Just my tent and a whole heap of caravans, long-term, mostly.

RH - I wonder how you fared?  I camped in the Moelwyns Sat night, returned to the car park near Nantmor to find it underwater, and my car almost up to its front axle.  Quite hard to extricate it without going into even deeper water, but OK.  A wild morning!
