For a weekend

Im planning on doing a backpacking route out of Corrour station sometime soon and the obvious place to leave the car seems to be Bridge of Orchy. Could anybody tell me whether you are allowed to leave cars there for a few days at a time, and indeed whether it's a particularly dodgy spot?

Ben I think the sign beside the Station indicates that it is for rail users only, which in this case is you. I've parked there a few times and never had any problem. There is a house nearby as well as the Bunkhouse on the platform so I think it is as safe there as anywhere else. The other alternative is to park in the car park on the south side of the Bridge of Orchy Hotel.

Ben .. I've done exactly that more than once, without any problems. The station parking is off the road, close to a few cottages, and well hidden. There is also a large roadside carpark opposite the station. Both are less dodgy than some other carparks nearby, such as Dalrigh. Of course, now you've told the whole world you're leaving your car there ...  Enjoy your trip.

Was up there a couple of weeks ago, agree parking up by the station / PO/old school house etc looks OK.

ALS, note how I didn't say exactly when I was going. Still, I went this weekend, the car was fine. Cheers for the advice!

Splendid Ben! The weather was (and still is) utterly fantastic, so I hope you had a good time. I had 3 sensational days in Skye earlier in the month, so it has been a wonderful May - I've just read the best for years. Still, there is snow forecast for the Cairngorm tops on Thursday, so back to normal soon. What did you think of Corrour?

Corrour was really nice, I picked it specifically for the wilderness I hoped it'd offer. I finished my degree on Thursday and it was my 21st birthday last Tuesday so I really wanted to get out in the middle of nowhere and Corrour certainly didn't disappoint. The ridge to the north east of Loch Ossian was my favourite part of the weekend: Aonach Beag, Geal Charn and Beinn Eibhinn. Three munros very close together, made a nice easy day and we felt silly that we didn't add Carn Dearg to the start of that walk. The weather was fantastic, though I did get a bit of heat stroke on Friday, despite drinking 4 litres of water. To make up for it I ended up sleeping in very late on Saturday so we felt a bit pushed for time. I'll upload some photos a little later.
