Today's pictures come from an area of the Yorkshire Dales that we haven't visited for quite some time.
The village of Barbon is situated between the hotspots of Kirkby Lonsdale and Dent yet is a lovely quiet spot except perhaps when the Barbon Hill Climb is on.
Pictures from our walk are now available to view on the webpage for those wishing to do so.
Regards,
Dave

I wanted to keep any ascent to a minimum today as I have been having difficulty with my breathing of late. It was a funny sort of day, we could see for miles but with high white cloud it was quite dull. The choice for today's walk was the low lying Humphrey Head near Kent's Bank which for some reason known only I suppose to Wainwright himself was included in his Outlying Fells of Lakeland book.
The pictures from our walk are now available to view on the website for those wishing to do so.

With Edith at her brothers for the day I hadn't intended doing anything today but it was such a nice morning it seemed a waste not to take advantage. Not wanting to be away too long as I had plenty of catching up to do on the website It was a visit to my favourite area and as usual it didn't disappoint.
A walk from Silverdale up Arnside Knott taking in The Cove and Heathwaite gave great views of which I never tire.
The pictures from the walk are now available to view on the website for those wishing to do so.

Dave

It wasn't my intention to have a walk today, certainly not one with the camera but having dropped Edith off at her brother's for the day I decided to make the short journey to Sunderland Point for this short wander. It wasn't a particularly bright morning with thin, high white cloud but the sun was finding ways through with some nice effects which if I was good enough would be better presented. Anyway take a look and see what you make of it.

Dave

I was still having some problems with the calf but it does seem to be improving slowly. However we plumped for this walk along the canal from Borwick which is a lovely length to walk and this occasion provided quite a few laughs as well.

The pictures from a recent walk up Birkrigg Common from Bardsea on a beautiful morning are now available to view on the webpage. Although small in stature Birkrigg is a fine viewpoint. Any suggestions as to what the item is that puzzled Facebook friends would be appreciated.

The previous day we had received some rather upsetting news. Our son who is a Auto Locksmith had been working on a car when he received what he described as a small knock to the head. An hour or so later whilst driving home his vision became blurred and he felt disorientated. His wife phone there doctor and he was advised to go to the A & E department at Lancaster Infirmary where concussion was diagnosed. He was sent home and told to rest but to return immediately if any of a given list of symptoms occurred. We were therefore on stand-by for looking after the granddaughters and couldn't travel far. However we both needed a bit of fresh air so this walk which is within 10 minutes of their house fit the bill perfectly.
Pictures from the walk are now available to view in the Gallery section of the website.

Dave
